I am on a workout kick, gang.  I'm running, doing the stairmaster, eating less, and losing weight.  And guess what?  I feel younger and look better.  As a 48 year old woman, you would've thought I threw in the towel long ago.  And I did.  But I'm picking it up, people!  I'm getting back into life.  And why am I doing it?  Because I want to be around to see my daughter grow up.  She just turned eight yesterday, I bought the girl the most adorable dress for her birthday.  She put it on, and smiled ear to ear.  Honestly, you could not wipe the big grin on her face for hours.  Oh, the joy it gave me to see her face light up so.

Her name is Stephanie, and she is just the most adorable little girl you've ever seen, even if her eyes don't really match each other.  She's beautiful on the inside, and that's what counts.  Plus whenever I put her in a girls birthday dress, her whole demeanor changes.   She becomes more confident and self-assured.  This is wonderful, because honestly, she can be a bit of a wallflower.  I once took her to an event, and she didn't leave my side the whole time.  Now, I know I can be charming and a lot of fun to be with.  But honestly, it was a birthday party for the girl next door.  You must come out from behind your mother's dress, dear.  There's a whole world out there to experience.  But I say, whatever.  If buying her a birthday girl dress makes her feel a little better about herself, then I'm all for it. Especially because in the long run, these dresses actually save me money.  How, you ask?  Well, I used to buy the girl all sorts of cheap clothes.  But her closet was just full of dresses she'd never wear.  She had one favorite outfit, and that's all she wanted to put on.  Do you have the same thing going on in your house?  I'm told it's pretty common.

Anyway, I now pay a little more money for dresses that I can be sure the girl will wear.  She only has two or three favorites, but so what?  As long as she wears them, I'm happy.  So we tossed out the old ratty stuff, to make room for few pieces of the good stuff.  And where do we get these girls birthday dresses, you ask.  From my favorite website in the world, 'natch.  It's called TwirlyGirl and I'm a convert, y'all.  I'm just the biggest fan in the world.  We now buy all her girls clothes there.  Dresses, tops, skirts, shirts... we are loyal customers.  They make all of their clothes right here in the USA, so you can feel good about supporting the local economy while buying a quality product.  I'm including a link to their site because I want this company to do well, so they never go out of business.  Besides, I like the feeling of knowing that I discovered something great before everyone else did.  Do you know what I mean.  Anyway, here's a link to their site so you can see their birthday girl dresses yourself.  Shop here.
