Birthday Dresses: The Real Stars of the Movies

The movies are full of all sorts of awesome stuff.  There are fight scenes, action sequences, nail bitters, cliff hangers, love scenes, drama, comedy and intrigue.  But to me, in my humble opinion, nothing holds the screen quite as easily or readily as a scene where a girl is wearing a beautiful birthday dress.  Think about it for a second. The bright colors, the cute styles and dizzying fabrics.  It's just magic.  It's a true cinema secret.

I first discovered by love of birthday girl dresses when I was thirteen.  It was during a trip to the movie house where we saw Cleopatra on the big screen.  And I thought to myself, look at that girl's dress!  It was so marvelous, especially when see so large.  That night I went home and sketched in my book a dress that I thought was almost as beautiful as the princesses.  Of course now in retrospect, I realize it's nowhere near as beautiful.  But that's okay. It was worth a shot, and certainly inspiring.  Now, I can't imagine Hollywood glamour without thinking about dresses and wardrobes.  And they even take that style off the silver screen and onto the red carpet at all the award shows.  The Oscars, the Emmy's and the Tonys.  And of course, for the girls, it's all about the dresses, am I right?
Now, I can't watch a theatrical release without noting to myself what she's wearing... be it pants, skirts, tops, or dresses.  And if it's a particularly fun and festive dress, you can be sure it's a birthday dress.  Those are always my favorites.
If you are in the market for a really cute and style birthday girl dress, like the one seen on Hollywood starlets, then look no further, because I have found the perfect resource for you.  The store is called TwirlyGirl and they manufacture dresses for girls aged 2 through 12. All of their dresses are made right here in the USA, and the fabrics are support soft, and many of them are even reversible.  Hello!  Two dresses in one, girls!  What could possibly be more fab than that.  Here is the link for you to make a purchase.  Tell them old Duncan sent you, and wink when you do.  Fabs!
