So my wife sent yours truly on an errand to the department store.  Oh man, was I like a fish out of water!  I haven't been shopping for clothes in years, much less girls clothes.  You see, she wanted me to pick up a pair of leggings for our ten year old girl.  No big deal, right?  Well, it certainly was for me.  You might as well told me to rob Ft. Knox.  When I got to the place, actually it was Nordstroms, I was immediately struck by the sights and smells.  Perfume wafted through the air as women sprayed passersby.  The music was chill and relaxing.  What a strange world I was in.  I asked a woman at the counter if she could direct a helpless, but handsome man, to the girls section, and she politely sent me up an escalator.  That felt like the longest ride of my life.  When I got off, I found the area where they sold clothing for girls.  I saw a rack marked capri leggings, which actually turned out to be this.  I uwrapped them and held them up to the light.  They looked a little short.  Like they wouldn't completely cover my daughter's legs.  So I found another pair and did the same.  They, too, didn't look long enough.  I must've unwrapped half a dozen pairs of leggings before a saleswoman approached me.  I told her they must've received a defective batch or something.  She tried to stifle a laugh, then politely said that these were "capri leggings for girls."  They were only supposed to come down 3/4 of the way on the leg.  That struck me as odd.   Were all the girls on the island of Capri born without shins?

At this point, I was really too embarrassed to continue.  I didn't want the sales girl to think I was a moron.  So I bought a pair of leggings and got the hell out of there.  When I returned home, my lady was pretty disappointed.  She had told me to buy six pair of capris, not one!  But there was no way I was going back the mall.  I was simply too mortified.  But it worked out for the best because I got on the computer and did a search for capri leggings for girls, and the site that came up had way better stuff than the big box store did.  The site was called TwirlyGirl, and all of their clothes are manufactured right here in America.  This drives the cost up a little, but it allows them to produce a higher quality product.  You get what you pay for.  So we ordered  a bunch of capris.  Actually, on their website they had a live chat button to talk with one of their Style Coordinators, who helped us pick out some clothes.   That was very helpful. Way better than making a fool out of myself in front of a live person.

So here's the link to TwirlyGirl if you're anything like me and want an easy and convenient way to buy clothing for girls.  And take my word for it, they have more than just girls capri leggings.  They have dresses, skirts, bottoms, jackets.... the whole 9 yards.  www.twirlygirlshop.com
